Robotics and physical-AI venture funding set a fresh record in Q2 2026, and full-year 2026 has already surpassed all of 2025 with several months left. Capital is heavily concentrated in a handful of megadeals, with median round sizes now in the nine figures, while deal count is actually falling, a classic late-cycle concentration signal. Within the last 60 days the notable new datapoints are the PitchBook Q2 tally and a $152M Series A for U.K.-based Humanoid.

Key findings

  • PitchBook: robotics & physical AI startups raised a record $18.6B across 450 deals in Q2 2026, with deal value up 25.3% QoQ even as deal count fell 14.1%; aggregate was heavily influenced by Anduril's $5B round plus major financings for NEURA Robotics and Physical Intelligence.
  • PitchBook: funding remained above Q1 levels even excluding the quarter's three largest deals; AI & autonomy platforms reached $7.7B in trailing-twelve-month funding, with sharp growth also in actuators & motion systems and end effectors & tooling.
  • Crunchbase: robotics startups raised $18.8B globally year-to-date in 2026, versus $15B for all of 2025 and $14.1B in the prior peak year of 2021.
  • CNBC (June 10, 2026): NEURA Robotics closed a Series C worth up to $1.4B with Tether, Qualcomm, Amazon, Nvidia, Bosch, Schaeffler and the European Investment Bank; the same report cites Dealroom data putting 2026 robotics fundraising at $55.8B across the broader robotics category.
  • The Robot Report (July 21, 2026): U.K.-based Humanoid raised a $152M Series A, earmarked for a next-generation platform, Beta robot rollout at customer sites in Q4 2026, mass production of wheel-based semi-humanoids, and its KinetIQ 'brain' software.
  • New Market Pitch analysis of disclosed pure-play humanoid equity rounds from August 2025 to July 2026: median round size $145.0M, average $247.97M, with the top 3 deals accounting for 47.10% and the top 10 for 73.82% of total capital.
  • New Market Pitch (updated within the last week): Figure AI, NEURA Robotics, Apptronik, Galbot and UBTECH have each raised roughly $1B or more, setting a high capital bar for new general-purpose entrants.
